Northern Thai-Chinese and what a delight. Jordan adored his Kanom Jeen Nam Ngiao a Northern Thai speciality with fermented rice noodles served in a tangy, savory, and spicy tomato-based broth made with pork ribs, minced pork, and congealed blood cubes. I went with the more classic Northern Thai dish, Khao Soi which had a spice focused curry broth without overdoing the coconut milk. We also enjoyed the Chai Tow Kway for the first time which we thought was fish, but was actually a nicely fried radish square. And last but not least, the salted egg yolk lava buns which tasted like a salty, rich caramel oozing out of warm dough.
I mean, wow. What a gem.
