Quick breakfast at the Pingo Doce bakery. We were buying supplies for the beach, including wine, and some pastries for breakfast! They were pretty good!

After Tram 28, we just wanted to sit down and eat somewhere. And this is where we ended up. The food was pretty good, not the best meal we had, but still very good. Guy sitting next to us was nice enough, I think he was lonely. But when he started critiquing our food, that was the limit. Anyway, I had another bacalau dish, and Daniel ❤️ had some kind of steak with an egg on it.

In Lisbon on the other side of the river, we were walking through the neighborhood looking for a place to eat lunch. We happened upon this sidewalk spot. The food was delicious, and very cheap as you can see. We paid $24 for the meal for the two of us, including wine and coffee. Another bacalau dish, this time prepared a little bit differently. She mixed it all up at our table. How fun is that?  Daniel ❤️ had a fettuccine dish. The fettuccine was black, so I think it may have been squid ink.

We could hear the Fado singing from our Airbnb window, so we decided to go eat at this restaurant for dinner. The food was delicious. Bacalau with potatoes. Another version of the same dish I had a couple of nights earlier. The music was haunting, and the food was delicious. 

Famous Portuguese bakery in Sintra serves delicious tarts and other items. It came highly recommended from our tuk-tuk driver. It was a delicious snack in the afternoon.

Our second great meal in Lisbon. We ended up at this restaurant by chance, I think Daniel ❤️ just found it on the Internet. The first restaurant we went to seated us all by ourselves on a big patio and I didn’t like it. So we came here instead. I had the bacalao which was delicious. Daniel ❤️ had a steak with an egg on top. Another amazing place and come back to you in a heartbeat.

The first meal we had in Lisbon was amazing. The octopus had an incredible, flaky texture, not like the chewy texture I'm used to. Plus our first codfish cakes. Everything here was delicious. I would come back in a heartbeat.

Pecan tart was kinda weird.

Dutch stroopwaffel. Very good.

Kinda gross but I was drunk and really wanted to try the fries with sauces in Amsterdam. We got Philly Cheese Steak with Peanut Sauce and Curry Ketchup on the side. They hit the spot.

Afternoon snack: "Bloomingbread" warm Waldkorn bread with garlic, butter & Cheddar cheese

Daniel liked his coffee, OJ, croissant, and ham& cheese. My Dutch cheese sandwich was less than stellar.

Ceviche, grilled squid, and meatballs. All was delicious.

Eh. Lamb chops we're ok but not great. Fries were good.

Canned sardines and mushy meat-and-potatoes fried balls. Maybe that's what Dutch food is!

First meal in Amsterdam. Indonesian rice table.

Our final Texas hurrah before Europe!

Pappasitos Wednesday night fajitas. Includes queso. Tomorrow we travel to Amsterdam. No Mexican for the next 18 days.

Carnitas at Lopez are always top notch.

Food was good but the techno-music was annoying.

Ice cream. 'Nuff said.

It was no Niko Niko but not bad for Humble. Fries were legit. Next time I'll try the fish. BYOB

Lunch with Ben and Wrenna. Location: crummy strip center. Atmosphere: meh. Food: ok. But it was fun!

This place is usually the shit! But the first margarita they brought me, I guess because I asked for it with jalapeños in it, was zero alcohol. I ordered a regular old, frozen margarita the second time, and it was delicious. The charbroiled oysters were good, but not great. Queso, delicious as usual. But we had to ask for the fresh jalapeños on the side. We'll be back, of course! But maybe order things differently.
