Not bad for lunch on the bike. We had a white queso for an appetizer, Daniel had beef enchiladas, and I had a very nice shrimp dish, except I had to peel the shrimp. All in all, pretty good!

The Veranda Steak and Seafood
Steakhouses
Daniel ❤️ had some lamb chops which were under done but delicious. I had a strip steak which was overdone and OK. I probably would never go back. The atmosphere was less than stellar. We had to whisper to each other to avoid being overheard because the room is small and there was hardly anybody in it.

The cheesy seafood dip, “queso”, was amazing. We then shared a stuffed flounder, which was delicious. And the garlic bread which I almost forgot to take a picture of. It was a yummy way to begin the 2023 Lone Star Rally.

After we hesitated about where to eat dinner after Park Guell, we ended up at this place in Barcelonetta. Food was good but nothing spectacular. We did conect with a couple from Dubai. That was interesting.

We decided to get the tasting menu for lunch at this place that we found on the Internet. Lots of really nice delicious bites, but I think we would’ve been better off just ordering what we wanted. It was very good in anyway.

Neither one of us remembers this restaurant. Apparently we ate there at around four in the afternoon after returning from Montserrat. I can’t even remember what it is we ate even though I have pictures! I’m sure it was delicious, though. Just a whirlwind of restaurants, and this one got lost in the mix.

Restaurant Casa Trampa

We found this place near Tibidabo. And it was quite the weird experience. Daniel ordered a coffee, and I ordered a glass of wine. When it was time to order food, the server took my order and then ran away. He never did take an order from Daniel. Then he put the placemat down and it was clear that he believed we were meant to share. I don’t know, maybe he just thought we were big Americans and didn’t need to eat any more! We had the HUEVOS RENTENOS ATN which Daniel predicted would be Tina stuffed with eggs but I thought would be eggs scrambled with tuna. As you can see, it was a tuna stuffed deviled egg. We also ordered a plate of olives which we never got. For dessert, we ordered vanilla ice cream, which as you can see, was an ALE-HOP cup. On the upside, it was plenty to eat. And pretty damn cheap!

Blake in my office recommended Peking Duck in Barcelona. So we found this place. We started with the Fried Wontons (yummy) and Chinese bread (eh). The duck was very good. We selected: C) Fillet the upper meat to make rolls and with the rest cook: Duck with bamboo and mushrooms

Delicious tapas in Barcelona. The oysters were pricey but worth it. I was watching the guy slice ham leg so I had to have some. I was not disappointed. We also had the paella of the day, which was nothing like any paella I’ve ever eaten before, and it was delicious. And mille feuille for dessert.

Our first meal in Barcelona, as recommended by Blake Wilson at the office. It was delicious. There was a long wait, but they offered us a seat at the bar immediately, so we took it. The food was amazing! We got the bread pudding dessert as recommended by Blake. It did not disappoint. It is was a great beginning to our stay in Barcelona!

Casa Portuguesa do Pastel de Bacalhau - Castelo
Portuguese
OK, we were suckered in. This touristy spot was very close to Saint Jorge castle, which we did not go into. But we did buy the codfish with port. I got to keep the souvenir glass. It was overpriced and the server, as you can see by the picture, was not too thrilled to be serving me. But hey, it was a Portuguese experience. By the way, these were the non-traditional cod cakes that have cheese in them. And that’s the only place that we found those. Every other place we got the codfish cakes, they were the traditional kind with no cheese.

Cascais! We ate at a restaurant, just on the beach right behind our parasol and lounge chairs that we had rented for the day. Daniel ❤️ had a whole fish that he had to filet himself. And I had sardines! Large sardines. And they were delicious. This place is bomb.
