It was thinly sliced and nothing too exciting, but I loved it with the salsa. I did like that they had a salsa option. Tri-Tip Bowl from the new Chipotle concept, “Farmesa” inside Kitchen United Mix on the 3rd Street Promenade. I wasn’t a fan of their rice, so opted for the whipped potatoes. The vegetables are served cold, broccoli and golden beets. And, I liked their Green Goddess sauce over the meat. Since it’s was their opening 50% off, not bad for under $10. The Best Thing I Ate on Super Bowl Sunday… Crispy Stuffed Chicken from Colette in Pasadena. A deboned air-dried chicken with shrimp paste and pretty good with the dipping sauce. We also ordered Beef Chow Fun, Black Truffle Mushroom Noodles, Fried Sticky Rice, and Garlic Broccoli. My dad’s favorite burrito! The Grande Burrito from Casitas Taco Al Carbon in Burbank. Your choice of protein, my favorite is Chicken, with Rice, Beans, Cheese, Lettuce, Pico de Gallo, Guacamole, Sour Cream, and comes with Chips. After a trip to the Salsa Bar for Verde Salsa (Green) and Cilantro, I was ready to head home for lunch and do paperwork. Although I’ve been coming here for over 30 years and during my days as an advertiser at The Walt Disney Studios, the food and service has always been the same, I’ve never had a bad experience here. Since one of my crew gave away my burrito last week, So, I had to get one for breakfast this morning. It’s a sad Lunar New Year today, as not too far away in Monterey Park, 10 people died in a tragic shooting at a ballroom dance place last night. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families and friends of these victims.

A Very Special Sandwich Saturday! I’ve been waiting for this sandwich for, let’s just say, awhile… A Coco Bread Jerk Chicken Sandwich from Caribbean Gourmet in San Gabriel. (today only - until they run out - vegan version too) Besides the Jerk Chicken, what makes this sandwich great is the bread. The bread is soft and buttery, also known as “butter flap” in Guyana. Served with a cabbage slaw and a spicy jerk filling. The chicken was tender and well seasoned served in a soft buttery flap, which was all house-made for this sandwich by Chef Yonette.
