I’ve Found The Holey Grail…Donuts! (cue the Indiana Jones music) They’re hand-fried taro donuts originated from a tiny red burger trailer in Hanalei, Kauai. All made to order and hand decorated, not too sweet, but very good. The menu is plant-based and donuts do not contain dairy, soy, or eggs. The dough does not contain nuts but is fried in 100% organic coconut oil. It’s St. Patrick’s Day and I made Bulgogi Ssam for the family. My sister planned to make Shepherd’s Pie for dinner tonight, but I suggested something different, maybe it’s because I wanted Korean food??? Our mom always made corned beef and cabbage with carrots and potatoes every St Patrick’s Day that I can remember. OK, except for this year… She enjoyed my version of Bulgogi Ssam with marinated beef and all of the Korean side dishes (banchans) wrapped in lettuce leaves.
