Broth very very savoury, rich, pork-y. Lots of flavor, but In personally find it too rich. I prefer the broth at Ippudo. These noodles, also, are the somen-type, thin, straight round. Shoryu has the best noodles, IMO.

Great Peking Duck (2 courses). Very consistent quality. We’ve eaten here about 5-6 times in the last two years. We like: peking duck, claypot chicken, legendary lamb cutlets, egg fried rice, xiao long bao

Too saucy, too spicy, flavours did not go together well, ramen is to be avoided as is the uni noodles.

Fluffy, properly flaky, light fruit scones with beautiful clotted cream. Interior is the original Tudor-era build with warm farmhouse decor. #teahouse #creamtea

(Forgot to take food photos!) A nice change from gastropub fare in the countryside. The presentation was so-so, meat prepared well, flavours were tasty without being overly special. I would probably eat here on occasion if I lived nearby. Friendly service. The interior decor was a bit odd, sort of reminiscent of a church hall refurb.

French toast! The bread used was so delicious. Must order with Canadian maple syrup. Cute bakery decor, pink, stripes, big, looping letters. #bestbrunch #breakfast #waterside #alfresco

The guac and chips were tops. Tacos, though, were just okay. Ingredients were fresh. Not traditional enough, not flavorful enough to justify not being traditional. The best taco was the carne asada one. The absolute worst was the vegetarian one. I have no idea how that one ended up on the menu.

Maki & Ramen
JapaneseRamen
The ramen broth was very delicious, not too rich. (I find that many ramen places make their broth overly rich and savoury.) Perfect when scooped up alone, but with noodles, it was a little unsalted, my only complaint. The black garlic ramen was amazing. The grilled sushi were so, so good. Tamago was very nicely done, too. I was impressed that the ramen was this good though being a chain restaurant. #sushi
