Asian Fusion
I made an Asian-style ahi tuna salad. I was going to make a Niรงoise salad but decided to make it more Asian fusion-y with a soy-cilantro vinaigrette.

Cuban
I made a Cuban-style michelada (salt & cayenne rim with lime juice, Worcestershire sauce, Maggi sauce, and a generous amount of ice in the cup) to drink while watching the game.

Good pupusa. But the plate was just okay. I still prefer Balompie over this.

Needed a burrito and beer to watch Game 4. Warriors didn't win unfortunately but we are 3-1 so I'm not worried.

My friend Anthony is right: this is the best pho in the city. Sweet, balanced broth. Generous portions of good quality meat. Recommend!

Frisco Fried
Fried Chicken Joint
Really loved the catfish: it was thick and moist with a whisper thin crust. Perfectly cooked, and not at all greasy. Good fried chicken too! The yams were too sweet for me and the collard greens were more crisp and less traditional tasting.

BBQ
Best BBQ in the city! I've lived here all my life but it was a Southerner who introduced me to this place. I got the spicy BBQ sauce which had a nice kick to it. The meats were all smoky and tender. And the collard greens tasted like someone's grandma had made them.

Ice Cream Shop
One of my favorite ice cream places in the Bay Area. The sorbet is light and frothy (I suspect it has whipped egg whites) and the Psychedelic City is a combo of three flavors (like an updated Neapolitan).

Nopa
AmericanNew
My foodie dad really wanted to go to Nopa. We had to have the pork chop, which is their signature dish. The portion was gigantic, perfect for a meat eater. My personal favorites were the butter beans (I could eat a whole dish as an entree), the tartare (I love raw beef), and the duck breast. For a "fancy" place, the portions are really generous here. You won't go home hungry.
