Cute restaurant with homestyle Nepalese food. Really liked the grilled lamb.

Good Italian food, but service was really pushy. Server was disappointed when no one ordered wine (she didn't notice that I was dining with a pregnant lady?), and wanted me to order a secondo (meat dish), even though I had an appetizer, primo, and planned on having dessert. Oh well. The risotto was excellent: creamy, well flavored, and al dente rice. My dining companion's truffled cream gnocchi (not pictured) was cloud soft too.

It's a summer tradition for my sister and me to go to Chez Panisse Café. A California classic. Always lovely.

Cute, moderately priced Asian fusion place. Next time I want to try the gyoza and the beef curry udon.

Back for more! The crab noodle soup and raw beef carpaccio are always on point! Love the other dishes here too. The duck noodle soup had a bitter herbal taste, which reminded me of Chinese herbal soups. I grew up with it, but it might be an acquired taste for some.

Pork leg stew is excellent! Definitely order it if you come here.

Quick bite from a local spot. Nothing special but it will do in a pinch.

The slices of fish were kind of thin, but pretty decent chirashi. Wouldn't go here as a destination spot, but I'd drop by if I were in the neighborhood.

One of my go-to Vietnamese spots in the TL. I usually order something from the Hue Specialties section.

Forgot to take a photo of the fisherman's stew because I was so hungry. The seafood was cooked well, but the broth of the mussels and stew were extremely acidic. I think the wine they were using was too strong.

Inexpensive, stick-to-your-ribs Japanese cooking. Really like the katsu donburis here. It's a tiny place and there's always a wait, but I feel like I'm in a smokey hole-in-the-wall in one of the alley-like streets in Shibuya when I'm here. It's not fancy cooking, but like a Japanese greasy spoon diner. Very satisfying when you're in the mood.

Good food at this late night spot. I suggest you order the raw beef salad and crab noodle soup.

The fish taco was grilled, not breaded & fried, which I preferred. A nice light meal for me but the portion might be too small for most people. Tip: order the mild salsa to get the fresh tomato pico de gallo and get the spicy salsa at the salsa bar

I'm so addicted to poke bowls. I get brown rice and kale as my base so it's healthy and tasty!

I always get the white flavors (soursop, lychee, coconut), so I'm never sure what I'm eating until I take a bite.

Part 2: Onsen is the Japanese word for hot springs, and there's a bathhouse on site too if you're interested. My favorite dishes were the chawan mushi (egg custard), trout poke, pork jowl skewer, squid skewer (so moist!), the mushroom dumplings, and the udon with bay shrimp.

Part 1: When my dad and I go to a restaurant, we do our best to order everything on the menu. We had 3 small bites, all the skewers, and all the large plates. And a dessert. The food was light and flavorful. Most fancy places have such heavy food, but I left Onsen pleasantly full but not logy.

It was so hot this weekend I had to have ice cream!

You have to get in line before it opens to do the happy hour here. $1 oysters were fresh and delicious.
