Pocket fave to bring overseas friends for a simple Taiwanese meal. To be specific, it's actually 宜蘭 style Taiwanese cuisine. But given it's good food, excellent location and low prices, it's a really great place to introduce friends to Taiwanese food and 永康街.

Missing NYC Lobster rolls. So we hopped in on Lobster Foods at Vieshow right before our show. The lobster tasted real fresh, but the "buns" were "toast envelopes" instead of buns, so somehow it tasted a little off from the real NYC ones. There were some creativity too, combining Salsa flavour or Kimchi Flavour, and also Cheese. While i believe everything tastes better with Cheese, it was just a case of 1+1=2, and not >2, since the tastes weren't amalgamating. Nonetheless, if you have a craving for lobster rolls, it would be OK for a quick fix. The lobster Pizzas looked cool, so I'll give it a try next time.

Local fave joint in the alleys opposite Wanfang Hospital. I never thought I'd love Xiaolongbao with vegetable fillings, but the 鲜肉丝瓜汤包 is so refreshing, without the usual greasiness of usual Xiaolongbao. Definitely a fave! Who says you gotta go to 鼎泰丰 (Ding Tai Fung) for the good stuff?

Surprisingly fast and good. Certainly tasty for fast food. But more expensive than the awesome stuff we had in Tokyo. Sigh... HK....

Yes! I'm back again. This time without as much 90s retro pop and the crazed dancing by the owners and crowd. But the food is still certainly good as usual. Located on the top of a market, Tung Po is a favourite of tourists and locals alike, serving Cantonese cuisine with a twist of HK. Tried the Tom Yum sauce fried fish fillets for the first time, and it was certainly delish~~! And the Soy Sauce chicken and Coconut Curry prawns are delightful as always. Mmmmmmmmmmm~~~~~!

鹽焗雞～ Fell in love with it for the first time in Ipoh. So was excited to try this joint opposite the office. Not quite what I was expecting, since it looks more like typical mix between 白斬雞 and 油雞. The meat is tender as expected, but the skin is more "moist" compared to the dry streaky nature of the ones in Ipoh. Nonetheless, it tastes good. Just not what I was expecting.

The solace and comfort food you want/need on an early morning flight... A bowl of Taiwanese Beef Noodles makes everything just a little better.

Being back in the land of 蛋饼豆浆油条, there is no shame to have them on a daily basis. And in this universe, 古早味 in front of 政大 reigns supreme (by far)... Despite its ghetto look, what has kept 古早味 the most popular breakfast joint in the NCCU area, is their secret sauce that they splash generously on top of the 蛋饼. Unlike typical sticky Soy sauce, their sauce is a light brown concoction which is less salty, but much more aromatic. So when combined with the well toasted egg and skin mixture, the experience is just.... Nostalgic.

永和豆漿 outside 榮總。 Gotta say, in the bigger universe of 豆漿蛋餅油條，this place ain't superb. But the nostalgia of having 豆漿蛋饼 in Taiwan is comfort enough.

A sweet joint outside the main entrance to National Cheng Chi University (政大) swarming with students. Because not only are the burgers pretty legit, they come at a comfortable price tag. The burgers are pretty creative too! We wanted to get more adventurous, so we opted for the specialty Melting Pineapple Peanut Butter Beef Burger, and the Kimchi Beef Burger. The beef patties are pretty solid, with meat and juice all packed in, and the Kimchi uplifts the burger with a little spice. The PB concept on a burger is pretty interesting too, with the pineapple neutralising the sweetness of the PB. But I'd say I'm more traditional, and I like my burgers heavy, and not sweet. All in all, a pretty cool joint, that I'd certainly head back to for more!

Massive Chirashi, from a huge selection of various Chirashi dons. Worth a try for a quick fix and a massive serving for about 120-150RMB. Time to try their sushi next time!

大排档 galore！ Read and watched TV reviews of this 大排档。 The main attractions are the 柠檬脆脆、柠蜜脆脆、番茄汤面、etc.

Gordo Monastrell and Cabernet Sauvignon Occasion: Dinner with friends at 酒窝. Score: 3.6/5.0 Notes: Well bodied structure upon opening. Doesn't require waking before the palette of flavours rush towards the palette. However, it doesn't sit very well, as the wine starts drying. Probably much better for fast drinking. Haha~

Chateau Leoville Barton - 1989 - Saint Julien - Bordeaux Nose: Barrel smell, slightly acidic but very robust tanin. Tongue: Very savoury, long comfortable finish. A little spicy on the tongue even after the throat. Price: Unknown. Lowell's personal wine. Score: 4.2/5.0 Location: 海都，Hongkong Occasion: Dinner with Lowell, Sunny and Buzzinate boys. Pairing: Hong Kong seafood and cuisine.

Meeting turned lunch in Zhengzhou, Henan province, with the most renowned Digital Marketing player in Henan. A small random Xinyang restaurant near the ECommerce Hub in Zhengzhou, serves very local Xinyang cuisine. According to locals, Xinyang is the only city in Henan province that eats rice as a staple. And because they regard themselves South Chinese, instead of Central China where most of Henan province resides, they share more association with the customs and traits of Southern Chinese. As Henan is renowned for being located next to the Yellow River, most of the cuisine focuses on Freshwater fishes. Pity I forgot to snap the 小黄鱼 or "Ga la" as locals pronounce it. It's a small river fish (10-15cm long) which makes a crying sound underwater. It tastes fresh from freshwater, and has a more chewy texture. Delish!! Pretty surprisingly good intro to Henan cuisine!

1. 根室 腥度：3/5 甜味：3/5 弹性：2/5 Creamy：3/5 前面腥，到了舌尾突然爆出甜味。相对还算Creamy的口感，但本身就比较融化了。 2. 登别 腥度：2/5。甜味：2/5 弹性：3/5 Creamy：3/5 每一块比较大块，味道四平八稳。Creamy度适中。 3. 石卷 腥度：5/5 甜味：3/5 弹性：3/5 Creamy： 比较特别，有种水果味（百香果？）。回甘到了舌尾，会有一种淡淡的腥味。 4. 北方四岛 腥度：1/5 甜味：3/5 弹性：2/5 Creamy：3/5 味道比较四平八稳，也就是整体大家比较popular的类型吧（可称为海胆界的Yamazaki）适合初学者吃。没有腥味，而且会有回甘。 5. 厚岸 （超大好き！) 腥度：2/5。甜味：4/5 弹性：3/5 Creamy：4/5 好Creamy，又是在嘴巴里炸开的感觉！又甜又有奶油味，感觉有点像在吃Soux Creme！

Oh My God!!! The uni just explodes and then melts in your mouth, then explodes again, and the melts away, and then your left with a sweet freshness on your palette!!! OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!

The scrambled eggs were fluffy and silky smooth as described! Unbelievable!

Ramen again! But this is THE spot to go for supper after drinks for "Salarymen" (apparently). It's just a little... Lonely, because everyone has their own booth. And it seems it's a place where people sober up alone, despite having company. I guess, it's the "booth (not fortress) of solitude" for Salarymen, to prep up for the tough challenges of everyday life. Any who, the selection of the noodles is simple, pretty much 1-2 types to choose from, but the "configuration" is diverse. One can choose from the various levels of Soup density, Noodle chewiness, Oiliness, Type of Spring Onion, Char Siew or not, etc to "personalise" the noodles for yourself. Definitely superior example of "productisation" and last mile customisation. WELL DONE!

Random find Cristina recommended from Google. Conveniently located in Roppongi Hills, connected to the Grand Hyatt. Surprisingly good, despite the tab. The fried chicken wings were amazingly succulent, and also a few interesting choices: 1. Grilled Avocado - loses the freshness of avocado, but pretty much tastes like potato only sweeter. 2. Yakitori with Cheese and Shiso 3. Grilled chicken was unsurprisingly delish too!
