I wanted a slice of Key Lime Pie, but also a Turkey Sandwich. I ended up ordering a Hot Open Faced Turkey Sandwich. I’m always saddened by restaurant closings... Today, I heard that Preux & Proper in Downtown Los Angeles is closing after 5 years. I am saddened at restaurant closings, not because it’s the industry I’m in, but because I know all of the hard work, passion, money, and sweat that goes into opening and operating one. When a restaurant was really good, like Preux & Proper was, it makes it even harder to accept it closing. One of the things I admired about #preuxandproper, all of their proteins and ingredients used were sustainable and from local farms, they even had their own mini garden in the restaurant. Some of my favorite dishes were the Chicken and Waffles, Chicken Livers, Watermelon Cucumber Salad, Mac and Cheese, and the specialty cocktail menu.
