Can’t beat a good Sunday roast. I had smoked salmon,with fennel & lemon dressing Followed by Hampshire sirloin of beef,Yorkshire pudding and vegetables. Matt had pea soup,Tunworth mousse & spring onions,followed by the beef.

I had tomatoes and burrata to start,followed by chicken breast with cauliflower and blue cheese “foam” with charred greens and potatoes. Matt had mackerel,fennel and watercress salad,followed by lamb rump,Anna potatoes with broad beans

This was a picky meal with Rach,Red ( vegan) and my self. I had the crispy chickpea cake with butternut squash,pickled celery,polenta,tahini and pumpkin mole. Rach had the baja fish tacos,with corn tortillas,picked chilli,harissa cream and pickled pink onion. Red had the smoked aubergine flatbread with roasted peppers,baba ganoush,vegan feta,pine nuts and pesto.. We shared halloumi fries,onion rings,heirloom tomatoes and rocket salad with Parmesan.

We both had the asparagus with béarnaise sauce topped with a poached egg to start.I then had pea and mint risotto with feta and I finished with cheese and biscuits. Matt the Hampshire roasted pork tomahawk chop with chargrilled cabbage and a cider and mustard sauce. To finished he had the dark chocolate delice with vanilla pod ice cream,coffee syrup and honeycomb.

We both had the salmon gravadlax with asparagus,dill mayonnaise,picked shallots and watercress. I went on to have the Parmesan gnocchi with a fricassee of spring vegetables,goats curd and wild garlic. Rach had the miso glazed pork belly with kimchi,bbq pineapple,avocado,sesame and peanuts

This is Italian tapas so Rach and I shared all of these dishes.. Burrata,heritage tomatoes and basil Asparagus fritti with truffle mayo Pizetta with tomato,baby broccoli,fresh goats cheese Crab ravioli,tomato and basil. Pistachio tiramisu. I have to say the ravioli was one of the best dishes I have ever tasted.

This was a seasonal set lunch. I had the tomato tart, with basil and Parmesan,followed by fishcake with a spiced crab sauce and a strawberry and lime pannacotta to finish. Matt had the salmon pastrami with pickled cucumber with a rye loaf,followed by the lamb rump with peperonata,basil and anchovy and to finish pavlova with lemon mousse and raspberries. This was a gift from Matt’s girls. It’s an amazing place with food to match.

Our go to place for weekend breakfast/ brunch Matt always has full English. I had eggs benedict with bacon

Another brunch. Matt had full English … again I had smashed avocado with poached eggs,pomegranates and their famous Kimbridge smoked trout

Lunch with Matt & Rach. Rach had Hampshire mushrooms with cream,Armagnac,and mustard on toasted sourdough it’s winter truffle.Followed by grilled halloumi with pea and feta fritter,aubergine caponata,tempura courgette flower with herb oil. Matt had Cornish mussels cooked in cream,garlic,parsley and lemon served with toasted garlic sourdough. Followed by a ploughman’s. I had soy and beer marinated Hampshire beef fillet with roasted garlic and mustard emulsion,crispy capers and rocket,served rare.Followed by fishcake with poached egg,pancetta and w béarnaise sauce ( I forgot to write mine down ! 🤦🏼‍♀️)

We shared The “Haven” salmon platter which consisted of hot & cold smoked salmon,gravadlax,horseradish mayonnaise and crush bread. Matt had the fish and chips with crushed peas and bacon with tartare sauce. Followed by a chocolate brownie with ice cream I had pan fried hake with crushed new potatoes and pesto and wilted spinach. Followed by rum and raisin ice cream 🍨

Full English “Chewton Bunny” poached eggs,sausage and bubble & squeak cake top with chive crime fresh ( it usual comes with bacon 🥓 but I swapped for sausages) Strawberry and citrus smoothies

Quick lunch. Nice and simple. Tomato soup with a ham salad sandwich. Fish finger sandwich on sourdough with pickles and slaw.

Birthday lunch with Matt & Rach. Always local ingredients. So tasty. Expensive but well worth it for a special occasion. 🐷❤️
