A San Francisco classic. Good food, good service. I love the puffy, golden Yorkshire pudding; the perfectly tender, rare beef bathed in rich au jus; the variety of horseradish condiments; the bacon-inflected creamed spinach; and generously portioned, spot-on cocktails. All for a reasonable price, which is increasingly making the reservations a pain to get: the price of popularity.

One of my favorite protein-packed lunches in the overpriced Financial District. I got all dark meat and it was heaven. Don’t forget to grab some house made habanero and sriracha sauces.

Felt like Burmese food, so I made Shan noodles.

One of the more authentic Thai places in the city from the same chef/owner as Lers Ros. Flavors blast you in the mouth. Not subtle at all and brings the heat if you ask for it (I always ask for it spicy). Not for the faint of heart.

First meal in Rome. Excellent.

Went back again and wasn’t as impressed. The sandwiches are good but the cost is kind of high for a weekday lunch.

Luke’s just opened up in the SoMa! The lobster roll was good though I think it’s weird it has mayo AND butter and is served cold. A buttered, Connecticut-style roll has to be served warm. There were some chunks of cold butter in it, which was strange. Good, sweet, fresh lobster tho. And in nice chunks, not sad shreds.

Disappointed with the pork belly here. It’s boiled in water and pretty flavorless. I’m sticking with the katsu!
