First meal in Trinidad, Cuba. I noticed the food is much sweeter in this region than Havana. There's a lot more honey and fruits used in the dishes whereas Havana style dishes often have green olives and are more savory.

The multi-lingual server (I heard him speaking French and Italian in addition to Spanish and English.) recommended the fritters and yellow rice. Both were delicious. Cuban restaurant food tends to be protein, rice, and salad, so I wasn't too surprised that the sautéed vegetables were just sautéed salad ingredients.

Another little food stand where everything is in cubano pesos. Fried chicken plate cost only a dollar and the salad ingredients cost 50 cents. Most food stands serve sandwiches, hamburgers, spaghetti, or pizza. This one piqued my interest because it had a line and had fried chicken. I was not led astray... it was tasty chicken!

Hole in the wall ice cream vendor. This cost about 4-5 cents! There's two different currencies in Cuba and this was 1 cubano peso.

Super packed with tourists but, man, the drinks were good! Wish I had come back for another fruity mojito. Not pictured: the Bucanero beer I had.

Back at Donde Lis again! I was addicted to their lobster.

There's always a long wait outside but I lined up when they opened. Generous portions and very reasonably priced.

Went back to La Taberna del Pescador for a late night meal. I liked the lobster better than the octopus here but both are good.

Yummy bananas! So much sweeter and tastier than the bland bananas in America.

This was my favorite place of the trip! I kept coming back! Tostones are unripened plantains that are fried and smashed then fried again. These were stuffed with yummy fillings. The salad was a nice and light dish to counteract the heavy vacation eating.

Nice little seafood place on Calle San Ignacio called La Taberna del Pescador.

Popped into this spot for some mojitos and a salad to escape the rain. Ended up chatting with some tourists from Italy and Germany.

First meal in Havana at a touristy place in Plaza Vieja. The michelada was refreshing but the lobster was a bit dry.

Generous portion and quite delicious.

Delicious Scandinavian food. The gravlax, with its cold sorbet and sweet rye components, was especially delicious. And the meatballs were very moist. Recommend.
