Zaranda in Mallorca offered me the best experience of this holiday! Located in an old tannery, this restaurant plays with the theme of leather working and tanning in the menu. All the food is presented in this theme and - as we see in the photos - truly stunning. Obres de Arte, indeed! Upon arrival, you are welcomed into the sitting room, where you enjoy the first three courses. It's quiet, fancy and rich. After the entrees, you are led down to the kitchen, one table at a time. Here the chef is awaiting you with a big Spanish smile. At the kitchen counter, you eat the second set of three courses, the second of which the chef himself prepares for you. Amazing! Then you move again, to your dining table. Here, there is a map of leather sheets, one for each of the courses that follow. The courses are loosely based off of the texture of the leather, from things like eel, stingray and of course the more common cattle. All the dishes are accompanied by amazing wines, served by the young, energetic, charming and knowledgeable sommelier.The other members of the staff are also very friendly in a really professional way. It was impossible not to enjoy! When the food is done, you go back to the sitting room for the coffee, feeling blessed and happy! A truly unique experience, very well executed. Marc Fosh restaurant in Palma is situated in a beautifully renovated building, romantic and modern. There are two menus to choose between, although they are mostly the same - one just has two dishes more. The presentation of the dishes was great and the accompanying wines matched well. The homemade sobrasada (a Mallorcan porc sausage) was brilliant, it was served with the bread and was rightfully given some time in the spotlight, before we went on with the rest of the menu. Yummi! The tempo for the meal was spot on, the crew were attentive and nice, but still I would not go back. Wether it was the silly pop music, the flavours being bland or the fact that there were only tourists there, I don't know. But whilst is was definitely a good place for a romantic meal, it just didn't live up to my expectations.

La bodeguilla is a compact little gem near the coast in Palma. It was really packed and for good reason: the food is amazing! I started with scallops, that came served in a cream of cauliflower and with a thin slice of iberian porc. It was to die for! Up next was the pulpo, with eggs and potato. Then a piece of black boar, crunchy skin, good flavour! Ended the night with a chocolate tarte (if only so I could accompany it with my favourite desert wine of them all, the pedro ximenez). Yummi, indeed!

Lovely interior, with a big open kitchen where the female chef does her magic. I had shrimps, coquilles, a ceviche and rice with duck and it was all delicious. 8/10.

La Salita offers a unique fine dining experience. The decor is stunning, set in an ancient villa. As they bring you to your table, you are taken through the kitchen where the many chefs are hard at work prepping the menu. I had the L Salita menu with - I think - 17 courses and took the wine pairing option. The place also offers a cocktail bar, and I started the meal with a whiskey-based glass of joy. What followed was equally good, contemporary and so amazingly presented. It was lovely. Staff were very professional. Fantastic experience!

Mengem is a small gem in one of Valencia's most exciting barrios. The young couple running the restaurant are very friendly and knowledgeable, and the kitchen offers a menu in which vegetables play an important part. I had the tasting menu with a wine pairing, and everything was amazing! Even the first glass of wine (made from Rhubarb..!) was good and the food was delicious. Felt blessed 😊 Definitely worth the trip if you can book a spot. 10/10 ❤️

Flama is a fancy grill restaurant in Valencia. It has a great selection of wines and the food is prepared in an open kitchen. I started off with an amazing tuna tartar with beluga caviar. I hope the picture does the dish justice, because the color and taste of the tuna were amazing! Some of the best tune I ever had. Yummi! Up next were some prizewinning croquettas. They were excellent as well. The main was solomillo (tenderloin) from the grill. The meat was cooked to perfection, tender with just a hint of the fire that touched it. Beautifull. The restaurant is small, with only 10 tables or so and all of them were occupied with Spanish speaking couples and families. There's a lot of staff on hand, who seemed a bit.. on edge? The vibe was a bit off either way, with the mostly very young staff more occupied with making sure they themselves look busy in stead of actually focussing on their guests. The place would benefit from somebody in the role of a proper host. The food is certainly already great!

Vineum is my favourite restaurant in Rotterdam. Every dish is cooked to perfection and the wines are amazing.

Broadway offers the best food in Kos town, with very creative dishes that are un-Greek in how good they are! The lady of the house, her son and the other members of staff are all so welcoming and it is no wonder the house is packed every night! Highly recommended!
