Nestled adjacent to a curated furniture concept store and a charming second-hand bookshop, Karoo Café offers the perfect backdrop for a Sunday chill day. The atmosphere is undeniably relaxing, providing a tranquil escape that invites you to simply sit back and unwind. During our recent family visit, I ordered the Chicken Schnitzel with chips. While the waiting time was about 25 to 30 minutes, the exceptionally friendly staff and the serene environment made the time pass pleasantly. More importantly, the meal proved to be well worth the wait. The star of the dish was the schnitzel itself. Encased in a beautifully crisp buttermilk coating, the chicken was incredibly succulent, yielding a soft, almost melting effect with every bite. It was a wonderful display of texture and technique. Accompanying the main event was a generous portion of skinny, skin-on fries - perfectly prepared and providing a fantastic rustic crunch to complement the tender chicken. Overall, dining at Karoo Café was a highly flavourful and wholesome experience that marries a cozy aesthetic with deeply satisfying comfort food. I will undoubtedly return in the future.
