Roti with eggs and split a fruit bowl. The roti came with a nice curry sauce but overall portion size was small for the price and we left hungry.

Wood fired pizza in KL. The pepperoni was solid, the other a bit meh. The dips were soso. For the price, going to give it just an okay.

Northern Indian food. The chaat aloo was delicious as we're both curries. Jordan would have wanted a bit more spice.

Everything was so so. We realized we've never had Nepalese that's blown us away. The momos and the curry were a bit bland. And a bit pricey for the size.

Upscale Malay Chinese fusion. If there was a Yummy+ rating, this place would get it. Absolutely fantastic. The butter eggplant was exceptional. Even the egg rice blew us away.

We enjoyed a second meal of chicken and bean sprouts. The sauces here were awesome. The chicken just had a bit too much bone.

My first bowl of mazesoba as I didn't want broth and it was awesome. So many textures and flavors with the crispy pork, chicken, and umami packed miso. I think good macros too?

God, these noodles were boring. The octopus was alright and the bean sprouts were good. We picked the overly hyped tourist spot and it failed as we should have expected. Luckily the price point was reasonable so not huge loss.

Our first Ipoh laksa and we are getting closer to the magic of that bowl of Sarawak laksa we had in 2023! This one was rich with some coconut broth and had fresh herbs plus pineapple ๐Ÿ. Loved this bowl and would make this a regular on our list if we lived here.

Osmanthus Alley Restaurant
Taiwanese
I went with the taiwanese braised pork rice which was delicious with depth of textures and flavors (and a nice break from noodles). The sichuan chicken was also very good and, unpictured, we ordered sichuan green beans as well. Fairly expensive but in a hip area. Only downside was the very loud table next to us.

Loved this entire meal. Both wontons were delicious - chili oil on one, sesame peanut sauce on the other. My noodles also had the sesame peanut sauce with pork floss. Jordan went with the beef noodle soup and he loved the tenderness of the beef. This was fantastic and makes us excited about Taiwan!

Lunch after climbing. My bimbibap was solid, loved the fresh veg which I've been craving, and even got crispy rice at the bottom. Sides were good too. Excellent value for a lunch set with tea.

Aji Noren
Japanese
The restaurant we planned on was full so we impulse went to Aji Noren. Hard to believe this was our most expensive meal of the trip because it definitely wasn't worth it. The mapo tofu ramen was fine, no mala. Unpictured, but the gyoza was like frozen Costco gyoza, barely warmed, no crisp, no flavor. Felt grifty.

Lunch after climbing in Gurney Plaza. I had the white curry mee. At first, I found it a bit boring, but with the chili mixed in, it grew on me. A side of additional chili oil / sambal would have elevated this dish.

Malaysian Chinese noodle house. We both got the mala panmee. Nice mala spice level, ground pork and tofu balls, chewy scrumptious noodles, fresh cucumber and carrots, and a generous amount of peanuts. Excellent bowl of noodles.

Super mid laksa. We were so hungry from our travel day and new it would be touristy, but it's Michelin mentioned so we went for it. Not very flavorful and small portions. Bordering on a thumbs down because it was expensive so felt grifty.
