Got the soondubu galbi combo. Pretty good but my favorite Korean homey restaurant might still be Evergreen. #newtome

Burgers are all good. Heart attack is tasty. Haven’t tried plates yet.

Not bad for AYCE. Nigiri orders are for 1 pc and rolls are only 4pcs. I prefer this since it lets you try more things. Carpaccio and sashimi (“tama”) were unlimited which is nice for low(er) carb diets. Salmon and yellowtail collar was good but on small side (but unlimited). Overall I walked away not feeling like I’m about to burst at the seams and liking this place quite a bit. #newtome

H&B’s To-Geaux truck at the LA Times Festival of Books. I got the filé gumbo, he got the catfish special. Both were pretty good and we couldn’t pass up the beignets. #newtome

Pricier than your average k-bbq but a nice change. Favorite was the tongue. Would go again. #newtome

First time trying Nigerian food! Had: samosa (pretty standard), jollof rice, egusi soup with fufu. Owners (?) were very friendly and recommended dishes which was great for first timers like us. Somewhat carb-heavy though. #newtome

Twice cooked pork was very soft but too saucy for me. Dish was marked with chili pepper but I usually stick to “mildly” spicy dishes and I had no problems with this dish. Snow peas and water chestnuts were good, classic dish. Salt pepper chicken was too breaded for my liking but seasoning seemed pretty good. #newtome
