went here to celebrate my boyfriend getting a new job and was a teeny bit disappointed. first of all, the restaurant layout wasn’t ideal. when researching the restaurant online i saw that it had a beautiful conservatory seating area, but on arrival we were placed in one of the front rooms. the room had only 4 tables and at the time of our arrival there was only one other couple sat in there meaning it was so quiet and devoid of atmosphere.
now for the food. the garlic pizza bread to start was absolutely delicious but i wasn’t blown away by my chicken and mushroom pasta. the porcini mushrooms on top, for example, were quite hard and not that enjoyable to eat. in all fairness, i was trying to be adventurous and steer away from my usual carbonara, so the fact i didn’t like it may just be down to my poor ordering skills. the pecorino chips were also a little odd.. they were really tasty but the cheese was sort of in a clump in the middle, not spread across all the chips.
they did give us a free dessert tho bc we were celebrating harry’s job and that was so so lovely! we got a banoffee pie which i’d never had before and it was really good.
would i go back… yes probably because our waitress was so nice and i would like to see if i just ordered the wrong thing the first time!
