90 Miles Cuban Cafe
Cuban
Pictured is the Vaca frita with a side of tostones. The food here is absolutely amazing and some of the best Cuban food I鈥檝e had in Chicago. The tostones are a must-order and the vaca frita is usually one of my favorite dishes to order but I think I鈥檒l stick to the lech贸n as the vaca frita is very chewy. Amazing experience overall!

Pictured is the Colombian empanadas, Salmon a la brazileira, seco de chivo, and bittersweet flourless cake. The best thing we had were the empanadas that were so flavorful and had me craving more! The salmon was well cooked and flavorful while the seco de chivo was not my favorite as the coriander flavor was too strong for my liking but my partner loved it. I do wish the rice portions were just a little bit bigger because I felt like I had to savor every grain. The dessert was amazing and I鈥檓 always extremely pleased when a restaurant has a gluten free dessert item that isn鈥檛 ice cream or fruit!

Maize Mexican Grill
Mexican
Pictured is the steak fajitas, gorditas with chorizo, and the queso fundido. I鈥檝e had my fair share of Mexican food but THIS is the best I鈥檝e ever had. I鈥檒l be honest, I wasn鈥檛 expecting much besides some flavorful meat and good horchata when I went but I was blown away by how their freshly made tortillas stole the show. The queso fundido was incredible as it was crispy, gooey, oily from the chorizo, and so flavorful! The steak in the fajitas was tender and carried such a good flavor that had me scarfing it down. The gorditas were good but I didn鈥檛 know they would be so filling so be cautious when you order or else you鈥檒l end up with several leftovers! If you come here, which you 100% should, be sure to order the queso fundido with chorizo and another one to go!
