Dark Horse Espresso Bar

I'm starting to realize it might be a trademark thing for coffee places to give you cold drinks in these glasses. Overall this place is lively with an early 90s vibe; that's probably why there's so many people just studying, drawing and working here. Sadly they were out of cold brew for the day - either means business is good or they didn't expect a lot of people to want cold brew in the winter. Whatever the case I ordered a caramel iced latte which turned out to be pretty damn good aside from it being a tad bit stronger than what I wanted after work. Located right by an art gallery it holds up with its mix of old industrial woodwork with polished new sections sprouting out. They even went through the effort to paint the brick wall to look more wood like.

Milky's Cloud Room
Cafe
Hands down the prettiest cafe I've been to so far! It's the first time I checked out the Stackt market and at least for this one cafe the designers really outdid themselves. Super happy I was about to drop in when no one was around, started getting packed not long after I sat down. I haven't seen modern minimalism done this well in a very long time. The best part is the coffee is just as good. I got the Milky Special which is similar to a vanilla iced latte which was suggested by the barista. If it wasn't so far away from my workplace I'll come regularly. Sadly it closes at 6pm but if you're in the area I highly recommend it.

Piccolo Caffe E Vino
Wine
This place is great if you want a small lively joint where you get some privacy without the wine bar being empty. The place mainly sits tables of two with one large table so keep that in mind if it's not patio season. Since I had a lot of energy today I decided to go with a cabernet merlot house red wine and overall It wasn't bad. The list of wines itself were impressive making me want to come back to try some others. I think the reason why I like this place so much is that I'm very comfortable coming here alone. The atmosphere is chill with enough with background noise that lets me just enjoy a glass of wine anonymously.

Sommelier Factory Wine Bar
Wine
Definitely coming back again, tucked away not far from my work I can see myself coming here more often. Nothing crazy about this place but they just do everything right. The menu is simple with great unique options without killing your bank. I ended up pairing a risling white wine with a Mortadella - Toasted Pistachios & Focaccia. Let me tell you I enjoyed my meal. Wasn't looking for a meal so this was perfect for the occasion.

Boxcar Social
Cafe
This place has the best seating options out of all the cafes I've been to so far. Definitely trying to cater towards people who work remotely. One gripe I have is the lack of ambient music upstairs which allows conversations to be overheard throughout the top floor. When it comes to the menu I was disappointed to find out they don't do cold brews in the winter though they made it up with how friendly the staff was with the wide variety of options they still offered. Through staff recommendations I ended up trying an iced vanilla Americano - the strength was a welcome experience. Would recommend and come back again!

Bobbette & Belle
Cafe
From a glance it's clear what the vision was for the design and decor of the shop. Really gave me the feeling that I was back in Paris. Even considering the petite size it was very lively with a diverse group of people all enjoying the pastries and coffee. I ended up ordering an iced vanilla latte with a sticky taffee, it's the first time I tried it but since I wanted a snack I ended up going for something new. It left me impressed with how good the sticky taffee was - the dipping sauce made me want seconds and I never order seconds. Leaving with a Hazelnut Chocolate cake for my sisters birthday all I can say is I now have very high expectations! Vibe 5/5 Coffee 5/5 Food 6/5

Ramen Misoya
JapaneseRamen
Considering it's a Ramen joint on the 4th floor of a building and how well put together the place was I was expecting a lot better Ramen. I ended up ordering a Spicy (which wasn't spicy) Miso (too much miso) TanTan (one piece with a massive hole) Ramen that left me a little dissatisfied to say the least. The Ramen wasn't the worst to be fair but for how expensive it was the quality was definitely lacking. Something about the noodles, the hard texture and how it didn't complement the meat. As someone who is a big ramen connoisseur I'm disappointed. Vibes βœ”οΈ Food βœ–οΈ

Mik Cafe & Bakery
Cafe
First time having time to check out a cafe before work and luckily I found a cafe on my route to work. Walked in not long after the joint opened, looking for a cold brew to only find out she didn't know what a cold brew was. With my expectations lowered I ended up ordering a vanilla iced latte which was pretty good. Nothing to write home about but it did its job though at least she gave me this small biscuit as a bonus!

Velvet Sunrise Coffee Roasters - Queen St
Cafe
It's surprising to see a place hidden away in plain sight. The road is crowded with people who just finished work and yet this place is pleasantly quiet with notably good taste in jazz music. For a place this nice its surprising to see it not busy, bonus points for having two wall outlets for each table. That being said they made very good use of the small amount of room they have also with coffee that doesn't disappoint either. Considering its a place that's big on fresh smoothies too the coffee is spot on, would have given better ratings if he didn't add so much vanilla. Going back to the classic vanilla cold brew this place has potential, definitely need to come back and try again. One con is the fridge gets a little loud at times. Vibes βœ“ Coffee βœ“ Secluded βœ“

HotBlack Coffee
Coffee Shop
Dont mind the half finished cold brew🫠 Overall a super chill vibe, not the most conventional seating arrangements but considering it's a really small shop it's not too surprising. What caught me by surprise was I didn't see any menus so I had to wing the order and go for a vanilla cold brew. Solid cold brew but what's making me want to come again is the wild variety of wines; for a place with no menus and haphazard seating seems like a place for regulars to chill at.

Kenzo Ramen Spadina

First off they got the spicy down pretty good πŸ’― Didn't finish the meal but all that was left was a bit of soup and some vegetables - they really went ham with the vegis, been a while since I had ramen with mushrooms. Even though I ordered spicy miso the broth had quite a strong tomato flavor - wasn't the biggest fan πŸ˜” The meat was solid, the staff was super nice - overall a pretty chill spot, may or may not come again and try a different dish with less tomato in the broth hopefully
