8/10 - the rating is more for the service and atmosphere than the food, as I found the food a little plain, but good atmosphere and service can make a meal for me! Driving to this koniba feels like you are driving to the middle of nowhere, but the place was packed! Live folk music playing and people dancing, it is a beautiful sight! The pasta was certainly a comfort dish and is perfect for someone who loves mushrooms as they are plentiful on this dish. The crepe with Nutella was yummy, and the server gave us two complementary shots of rakija to end the meal. I am bringing my family here when they come to town because anyone would love it.

6/10 - there was nothing too special about this wrap. I got a vegetarian wrap with beans, spicy yogurt, hummus, pickles, onions, lettuce, tomatoes. It was a fresh tasting wrap but nothing particularly outstanding about it. The server behind the counter was nice. Service was quick and efficient.

8.2/10 - I got a vegetarian gyro, and holy moly look at the size of this thing! I’ll have lunch AND dinner tomorrow! It had good flavors with tomatoes, lettuce, spinach, feta and a dressing that I would say is similar to ranch. The bread encasing these ingredients was also soft and delicious.

7/10 - located next to 808 Bar is Fuego, which provides an assortment of Latin American food. Tonight, I tried a vegetarian empanada with corn and cheese. I promise it’s more appetizing than it looks. While it tastes good, it is not a high quality empanada, as it’s fairly obvious it was premade and frozen prior to baking; the outside was very hot and the inside just warm. Despite this, after a few drinks at the bar, it is a satisfying bite to eat.

7.8/10 - we have a couple friends in Zagreb that had given us mixed reviews of Boban, and I have been wanting to give it a try since it has a charming atmosphere. Ultimately, I was very pleased with the antipasto, a meat and cheese board of which I partook in the the cow’s cheese, pickled vegetables, and olive tapenade. However, my entree was underwhelming but beautifully presented— a homemade cappellacci filled with ricotta and surrounded by a variety of mushrooms. It really did not have too much flavor. I was expecting it to be more buttery than it was. The dessert, although, brought my meal back to life. I had the chocolate cake with blueberry drizzle. I enjoyed it while watching a Netflix show in the comfort of my home, because I always overindulge while at the restaurant. It was so light and flavorful, a truly perfect dessert. Overall, the service was incredible, the atmosphere was delightful, and the food was good.

7.5/10 - cheese pizza - very thin crust with good flavor. It’s a portion you could finish on your own if you’re hungry enough.

8.7/10 - Located within the Swanky Monkey Hostel, you can find Soi Fusion. This restaurant was recommended by a local friend who said it was one of the best in the area. The environment is young and vibrant. There is indoor and outdoor seating, which includes an outdoor terrace to drink day or night. I am not sure if it’s the three gin and tonics talking, but this was outrageously good. I ordered the Dan Dan Tofu, which included chilies, scallions, and a delicious amount of peanut sauce. I love a good peanut sauce, and this was done more than right.

6.5/10 - To say I was surprised to find a Pita Pit in Croatia would be an understatement. The last time I went to a Pita Pit was in Fort Myers, Fla, USA in 2016. The facilities were not managed too well as the bathrooms were partly inoperable and dirty. I ordered the Garden Pita, which was OK. It included a little too much lettuce and some olives, tomatoes, cucumber, hummus, and mayo. It was nothing to write home about, but it was a filling wrap.

8.2/10 - This place is a hidden gem, literally! We had to walk down an alley to find it, but it was well worth it. The first thing I thought when I entered this bar is that it would be a perfect place for a first date because it is so intimate and unique. This bar serves a small selection of Asian fusion entrees. The server, who also happened to be the owner, was accommodating and made me a mango ginger tea. For dinner, I had the veggie katsu, which was three tempura tofu sandwiches with mayo, pickled cabbage, and scallions. It came with sweet potato fries topped with fried onions. We ended the meal each with a shot of rakija. Everything was delicious. The owners were also serving and cooking, which made it apparent to me they really care about the business and providing excellent customer service. I will definitely be back.

I had the vegetarian meatballs with mashed potatoes and sautéed vegetables. I also decided to get a croissant and some cabbage and beets for a salad. It was a great meal for the price, considering it is all processed. It was also very filling. My husband shared his almond chocolate and crunch cake with me, and it was delicious.
