Tucked away in a strip mall on Sawtelle, I was thrilled to discover Kimukatsu's 25-layer pork katsu filled with cheese and coated in black pepper, along with their very photogenic crystal ball kinako with soybean powder and brown sugar cane syrup.

Had to try this German + Mediterranean fusion restaurant in Fresno, and it did not disappoint. This doner chicken, imported German gouda, pepperonici, curry ketchup and house yogurt/dill/garlic sauce on a homemade toasted bun was so flavorful!

My friends, fellow UCLA Bruins, opened Tracy, CA's only Jersey Mike's and it is delicious! I'm a fan of their California Chicken Cheese Steak, but also love their Chipotle version. If you're in the Modesto/San Joaquin area, check them out for your catering needs too!

Rolled ice cream! Cool concept - it takes about 10 - 15 minutes from ordering to making and serving it, so not good if you're in a rush, but makes for good food porn!

One of the best spots on Oahu for saimin (noodles) with wonton. For the indulgent, you can order a combo meal with a cheeseburger too! Also ordered their mac salad, spam musubi and lilikoi juice.

New location, same fantastic Italian + Japanese flavors, like this spaghetti in shoyu sauce with mushrooms, spinach and shrimp.

Yakisoba (fried noodles) and okonomiyaki (savory Japanese pancakes) with lots of options for toppings. My current go-to combination is beef, corn, cheese and mochi - love the chewy, gooey texture!

The meat jhun here is incredibly flavorful with a crispy egg batter, not to mention the umami-licious sauce it comes with.

Great, easy spot in town for Hawaiian and local food (lots of tables and parking).

Grabbed some musubis, mochiko chicken and butter mochi from Tanioka's to take to the beach. Fantastic selection of food - there's always a line, but it moves fast.

One of my favorite spots in Hawaii is inside a bowling alley. There is no false advertising when it's comes to their tasty chicken, nor any of the other amazing menu items they have. Don't forget to order the lemon crunch cake too!

Always my first stop when I'm visiting Hawaii - mostly because they are open practically 24/7 and I LOVE their chili (no beans!) with rice.
