One of the hardest-to-get sandwiches in L.A.! ONLY available one week a month and today was my lucky day. Got one of the limited sandwiches today and was just as good as the first-time I had it. It's a pork loin sandwich, which the bread comes from Guadalajara, Mexico. There are many flavors in this "Lonche de Lomo" sandwich. Follow "Primera Taza" on Instagram to see when they have it. "Ali Baba" Burrito on Sundays Only! (Sorry, the pic doesn't do it justice) With fire-roasted chicken & vegetables, fresh tabouleh, basmati rice, hummus and fries wrapped in lavash (as the tortilla). Recommended to call ahead and order one ($13 and change with tax). Cash only place. Tell them Chef Jay sent you! It was a hot day today, so I got a side of hummus for an evening snack.

New tea and toast place in DTLA. Quality teas, loved the Strawberry Matcha Lemonade.

New place in South Pasadena, soft opening during my visit today. It took awhile, hope they're faster in the future. Not a bad sushi roll. Had the shrimp tempura and spicy tuna on soy paper (+ $1).

If you remember the cafe at Fred Segal Melrose, the Corbia brothers ran this famous cafe in the 1990's. Now, they run Fabiolus in Hollywood! Great Italian food! Love the Ravioli Funghi

First Day of serving Taquitos! 6 beef (or chicken) taquitos for $6.99, served with chili verde and crema.

The award-winning Burritos La Palma. The Birria de Res burritos are small, but packed with flavor on such great flour tortillas. Find them also in Santa Ana and their OC food truck.

One of my late night taco spots in Los Angeles. The blue truck takes a bit longer than other trucks, but you get to add all of your condiments and sauces. Look for them in KTOWN (3rd and Vermont).
